In this chapter, Prill has a few crew members stay on the ship to follow the island, then the rest take two lifeboats to disembark on the shore of Mudoo Ra. As the sun sets hundreds of glowing, burning insects called "dusk bugs" take the shore. The map does not tell Prill where to go from here, and the crew starts to get anxious, especially a mute albino by the name of "Oded." Prill purchases himself up on a rock and lectures them about their lack of faith. One of the dusk bugs tries to bite Prill on the forehead, and he kills it. Its glowing guts splatter onto the magic map, revealing where to go next.
