about

In this chapter, Prill has traveled deeper into the cavern below Umber Tower. He has fallen into a haze, and then is violently attacked by these mantis-like creatures called "nimloks." Outnumbered, he flees from them and finds sanctuary on the other side of a river.

lyrics

Inside of that hive, the air was stale
All I saw?
A fog that'd go for miles
A buzzing drone would heighten all my senses
To a tune of rusty, lichen hopes

Behind a mask is where I stole
And I waited in the dirt for my ascension
To my surprise, I saw them—hungry and down below
But I felt serene for a mortal man
They were demons that made to follow me,
And they crabbed their way on through
And they tore my heart and drank my fountain dry!

I'd remain with half a head on my shoulders
And my path led to a mountain of shame and gold

Well, I bore a hole of new frustration
For the river, I could never cross
In every fiber, I could feel all wicked eyes
They aimed for me, and I was lost

O' I knew they was' watching me!
And they couldn't stop this madman

I'd remain with half a head on my shoulders
And my path led to a mountain of shame and gold
If I stay too long, that darkness will turn my soul black
But all the same... at least I'd have my gold

O' I knew they was' watching me!
And they'd never stop this madman's drum!

Can I cross a river made of anguish?
When from the murk, they'll strike their pose into my faith
O' how they'll sink and force their teeth into my soul!
I closed my eyes and let go

No envy to drown my voice
-The cold mud of freedom's grandeur
Judgment's been denied
For I stand on the other side
O' I feel it calling home!
O' I hear it sound its horn!
O' I feel it!

I'd remain with half a head on my shoulders

about

Hungry Lights

Hungry Lights is my solo music project. The plan is to release five concept albums all surrounding a character named, "Prill," who is a plesiosaur hunter on a quest to better his life, but everything he does just adds to his own delusion and lack of self-worth. The music is the musical interpretation of a book series I have been writing called, "From Windfall To Hell." ... more
